Make Time

It is the beginning of a new day and it is early in the morning. For me this is a wonderful and sacred time. I have realized through the years that I have a choice as a Christian to set the tone for my day by starting it off with prayer. When I do not start with prayer the day seems to overcome me at times.

You might think that you do not have the time to start your day off with prayer, but I believe that you do. A few weeks ago Sarah started going back to school which meant that our morning routine changed. I had the new responsibility of taking Dylan to the sitters. Because of the shift with our schedule I have to get up much earlier to make sure that I get in my morning run. Doing this made me realize how all of us will rearrange our schedules so that they always fit certain aspects of our lives that define who we are.

Every one of us in our Church should want to be defined as a people of prayer. This Church needs your prayers. Your family needs your prayers. You need your prayers. No matter what your routine is right now I want you to consider starting your day off with at least 5-10 minutes of prayer every morning. This should not be the only time you pray, but let it become a time of praise for what God has done for you and a time to lift up the needs of your day. Try this for the rest of the summer season and I believe that you will find that you will always make the time to begin the day with prayer.
